Jungheinrich is launching a new industry-specific solution on July 1st 2010. Thanks to the new option, electric counterbalanced trucks from the EFG 213-220 and EFG 316-320 range can be deployed with a minimum of adversity in “aggressive ambient conditions” — especially in abattoirs or the fish-processing industry.
Commercially available as from July 1st, the new Jungheinrich package consists of additional equipment for Jungheinrich series 2 and 3 electric stackers, designed for operation under particularly tough ambient conditions. Apart from special splash protection for the drive motors and a tilting cylindrical runoff for water, the trucks also have an extended mudguard. “This allows the forklifts to withstand operation in extremely adverse ambient conditions”, explains Stefan Pfetsch, Head of Product Management for Electric Counterbalanced Trucks at Jungheinrich, adding that the optional package also helped “prevent corrosion or even truck downtime”.
To avoid penetration by undesirable substances which are common to these industries, e.g. saltwater in the fish-processing industry, the optional package includes special seals as well as a runoff for the lateral storage space. This Jungheinrich industry-specific solution is rounded off by additional preservation measures, including protection for the truck’s rear side and battery compartment as well as for the wheel studs and mast fittings.
Jungheinrich ranks among the world’s leading companies in the material handling equipment, warehousing and material flow engineering sectors. The company is a service provider with manufacturing operations as well as an intralogistics solution provider, which offers its customers a comprehensive range of forklift trucks, shelving systems, services and consulting. Jungheinrich shares are traded on all German stock exchanges.
