TOKYO (NQN)--Nissan Motor Co. (7201) said Thursday it plans to spin off its forklift operations to speed up corporate decision-making and to improve flexibility.

The company aims to spin off the forklift operations this fiscal year.

Nissan's forklift business, which has production facilities in Japan and overseas, employs some 2,500 people and had sales of 61.3 billion yen in the year ended March.
