Doosan Capital held a board of directors meeting on April 8 and appointed senior executive director Chung Oki as Vice President & CEO of Doosan Capital. Chung is the first female CEO at Doosan Group.
Chung is a financial expert who worked with the Bank of Korea, GE Capital, and Citigroup, and was recruited by Doosan in 2006. She took the lead in the acquisition of Yonhap Capital in 2006, and the establishment of its Chinese affiliate.
Doosan expects Vice President Chung will develop Doosan Capital into a world-class professional lender by banking on her ample experience in the financial industry and operational capacity.
Doosan also recently recruited as Doosan Corp’s executive managing director Gang Hyejin (40), who worked as a principal or an executive level official at McKinsey & Company. Doosan also appointed Lee Shinyoung(46), chief of the planning team at its subsidiary Neplex, as a executive director for Doosan Corp.’s holdings division on April 8, as it has appointed a string of female executives.
Choi Seongwoo, executive managing director for Human Resources Planning at Doosan Corp, said, “These are results of the establishment of a HR management system that equitably assesses staff members based on their capacity and performance.”
