Lift truck provider Cat Lift Trucks, headquartered in Houston, Texas, has selected two Houston-area high school students to each receive a $5,000 scholarship for their higher education pursuits.

 

Spencer Randall from Ball High School in GalvestonandBrandon Hoffmann from Clear Lake High School in Houston were selected as this year’s recipients based on their superior academic performance, extracurricular activities and demonstration of community leadership and involvement.

 

Randall will attend Rice University to study mechanical engineering. Hoffmann, has been accepted to Texas A&M University where he will study mechanical engineering.

 

“Cat Lift Trucks is pleased to recognize and reward these exceedingly hardworking students who have proven themselves in the classroom and in the community,” says Jeff Rufener, vice president of marketing for Cat Lift Trucks. “It is important to nourish the future leaders of our industry, like Spencer and Brandon, by supporting their goals for higher education.”

 

This marks the fifth year for the Cat Lift Trucks scholarship program, which to-date has awarded more than $43,000 to local Houston-area students.

CAT Lift Trucks, in conjunction with local Houston-area dealer Adobe Equipment, is also the official lift truck provider for the annual Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. They provide more than 80 lift trucks to help make the world’s largest rodeo a success for an estimated 1.6 million visitors to the show. In addition, Cat hosts Big Brothers Big Sisters to a night at the rodeo, provides judges for the rodeo’s Agricultural Mechanics Project Show and invites Texas Future Farmer of America (FFA) Tractor Technical teams to tour its facility.
