Participation in the Olympic Events, the first major milestone achieved in 2008, is testimony to the quality of the vehicles, as well as to the confidence generated by the brand at an international level. With good reason, the C 350 H was chosen to prepare the stadium after the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games held in Beijing this past August. Likewise, the different lines of forklifts, along with the telescopic models and concrete mixers, were the main attractions at the AUSA stand during the BAUMA 2008 International Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines and Mining Machines held in Shanghai on November 25 to 28.

After attending BAUMA, Josep Soler, Export Manager of AUSA, commented “in spite of the current market situation, we are confident, although at a somewhat slower pace, we will be able to implement our planned growth strategy, which we consider to be essential for the future”. To achieve this objective, AUSA will continue to focus its attention on the machines already launched in the Asian country, without ruling out new presentations in the future.

AUSA vehicles praised by Professionals at the Olympic Games

AUSA was the brand chosen by the Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games to perform cleaning and transportation tasks, both for people as well as materials, at the impressive “Bird’s Nest” stadium, measuring 330 by 220 m and rising to a height of 69 m. According to statements by Mr. Soler, AUSA places a high value on its participation in the event as this has made it possible for China to appreciate that “the productivity of the machines is a key factor in the ability to accomplish jobs on time and that reliability and quality are fundamental when it comes to making sales”.

As a result of the performance, design and robustness of the vehicles, as well as ease of use, the AUSA machines were highly esteemed by Chinese professionals attending the Olympic Games, who singled out the ease of loading and unloading offered by AUSA machinery, as well as the versatility of the multiservice product line and the forklifts.

The C 350 H: Limitless Features

The AUSA C 350 H forklift played a leading role in the maintenance tasks performed by the Catalan company in the Olympic stadium.

This compact all-terrain machine has a loading capacity of up to 3,500 kg and a hydrostatic transmission that provides the machine with a high level of safety. Equipped with a KUBOTA V 3300-E2B diesel engine, it affords a low noise level, greater efficiency and reduced fuel consumption. This model reaches maximum speeds of 20 km/h and is capable of climbing grades of up to 32% carrying a full load. One of the main advantages of this vehicle, and of all the others in this line, is the ability to access complicated and narrow spaces, both indoors and outdoors, thanks to its size.

Standard equipment includes an open cab, side shift and an ergonomic seat with safety detector, as well as a joystick, seat belt, rotating beacon and an audible reverse warning system. Optional features that can be added include: semi-closed or closed cab, heating, lighting equipment, catalytic converter, spark arrestor, fuel filter with water separator, 600, 800 or 1,000 liter hydraulic buckets and load protector.

BAUMA, a resounding Success for AUSA

BAUMA 2008, held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC), occupied an exhibit area of 210,000 m2 and drew 113,000 visitors, compared to 80,686 at the previous event, representing an increase of 40% compared to 2006. In addition, the number of exhibitors increased by 48%, with a total of 1,608 companies.

With such encouraging figures, it is not surprising that the success of the AUSA equipment at the Trade Show was great news for the company. It is important to point out the warm response given the all-terrain forklifts and the telescopic machines, however, the true surprise was the interest sparked by the AUSA concrete mixers.

According to Mr. Soler “the outcome has been extremely positive”. He also points out that “the scope of action offered by the Show was not limited to the Chinese borders, as we also received visitors from other countries within its area of influence”.
