Lexington, KY – At a ceremony in Lexington, KY on September 23, 2008, CLARK Material Handling Company was recognized as a finalist for the Republic Bank’s WE CARE Award.

CLARK has, as a core value, a governing principal of supporting our local communities through philanthropy and community service. Being recognized as a finalist for the Republic Bank’s WE CARE Award, validates the philanthropic efforts of our employees and the time they invest in our community” said Dennis Lawrence, CLARK’s President and CEO.

Republic Bank's We CARE Award is intended to give recognition and appreciation to local companies whose employees are doing great things for our communities. The award was created to publicly congratulate companies who stress the four elements contained in the We CARE name itself - Community, Activity, Recognition and Enterprise.

Companies which meet the WE CARE criteria are judged on how they encourage employees to become involved in volunteer activities in their communities. They are also evaluated on how they support community-based initiatives through philanthropic efforts and neighborhood assistance.

CLARK is proud to have been recognized as a finalist in the Corporate Caring Category in this its first year of participation. Clark has a team of employees who volunteer to oversee its corporate donations and philanthropy work. This team and all of CLARK’s employees work tirelessly to make a difference in our community. Employees are active in numerous local causes including Susan G. Komen for the Cure, UM Home for Children, American Diabetes Association, New Opportunity School for Women, God’s Pantry, Ronald McDonald house, United Way, Lexington Rescue Mission, and many other organizations.

CLARK is a global leader in material handling since it invented the first material handling truck in 1917; CLARK maintains production and sales facilities in Germany, Korea, China, Brazil, Chile, and Costa Rica in addition to the facilities in Kentucky. Over one million CLARK forklifts have been sold worldwide. CLARK and its TOTALIFT all brands program offer a full range of aftermarket parts for all brands of forklifts. CLARK products and parts are distributed and supported through a global network of over 550 dealer locations worldwide.
