From July 9^th to 10^th, 2008, experts from National Quality Supervision & Inspection Center for Hoisting Machinery conducted field test for special equipment prototype on the CPQYD 35 dual fuel counter-balanced forklifts newly-produced by Shandong Guangming Machinery Co., Ltd. The test was fully compliance with Provisions for Special Equipment Prototype Test: Forklift. CPQYD 35 passed all the tests mainly including forklift dimension parameter, speed test, traction test, brake performance test, liquefied gas cylinder test, stability test, hydro-static test of overhead guard, shock test of overhead guard, bias loading test of fork, 1.33 times overload test of mast system, parking brake and operation test.

There appeared several “most” during the overall testing process:

The most dangerous process must be the test on the stability of the forklift. As for forklifts driven by petroleum engine, the travel speed will be faster than those with diesel ones. The stability test on no-load forklift requires the tilting angel exceeding 25°,which is essential while quite dangerous when considering that there is a liquefied gas cylinder on the forklift. In order to assure the safety of the vehicles and testing personnel, the Manager, Director and all the staff from the welding workshop actively took part in the test, making full preparation by using a rope to pull the forklift to prevent the possible collapse. Thanks to the sophisticated skill and considerate preparation, the test was perfectly finished.

The most ease test shall be the traction test, in which the design traction of CPQYD 35 was 15000 N and the actual traction when testing reached 16900N.

1.33 times overload test of mast system needs to lift the fork to 2.5m high with 4.7 ton testing loads, then to see if the mast system deforms, which got people’s nerves on.

The most difficult test must be hydro-static test of overhead guard with 5.5 ton testing loads. This test shall last for 1 minute to see that the overhead guard has no crack and deformation.

During the noise test, it requires the noise of forklift not more than 84dB (A) while it was only 73 dB (A) in the test.

Through all the tests, the performance indicators of the forklift reached the standards and operated extremely well, highly-appraised by the experts from National Quality Supervision & Inspection Center.
