Yuchai Casting Center, which undertakes the hope and dream of Yuchai recently laid the foundation and started construction. On July 16^th, the Ground-Braking & Foundation-Laying ceremony of Yuchai Casting Center was held grandly in Yuchai Industrial Park Zone A. This project is planned to occupy total land area of 1800 Mu. After construction and putting into operation, Yuchai will produce 290,000 ton of diesel engine cylinder and cylinder head casting with high strength, thin wall, high quality and high level. As one of the diesel engine casting parts manufacturing base with the largest scale in Asia, Yuchai Casting Center will cover 0.8:-12 L mini-, light, medium and heavy diesel engines, not only including all the current series of Yuchai models presently, but also covering the full series of model planning products in the future. 

Leaders at municipal level such as Secretary of Yulin Municipal Committee of CPC Wen Ming, Mayor of Yulin Jin Xiangjun and President of Yulin Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Lv Jian, Vice-Secretary of Yulin Municipal Committee of CPC Yu Xingxiang and so on attended the foundation-laying ceremony of Yulin Casting Center, cut the ribbons and reinforce earth to the foundation stone. Standing Commissioner of Yunlin Municipal Committee of CPC and Vice Mayor Liu Zifu presided over the ceremony.

With high starting point and standard, Yuchai Casting Center is a great upgrade in terms of Yuchai casting technology. As key procedures are adopted imported international famous branded equipment assisted with the domestic first-class equipments, the casting production line is constructed to be high efficient, stable, reliable and eco-friendly at high quality and low cost. This project is planned once and constructed in two phases, among which the fist phase project will occupy land of about 1000 Mu with investment of RMB 960 million Yuan. Three casting line will be constructed in the first phase project as the first casting line is predicted to put into production by December 2009, the second line by December 2010 and the third one by December 2012. When the first phase project is built up and put into production, the casting supply in Yuchai will meet the demand of annual marketing increase of 15%-30%, further improving the manufacturing level of Yuchai to satisfy the requirements of State-III engines on the quality of casting parts as well we to enable the casting technology to reach world first class level.

In May 2008, Yuchai Group formally joined in Global Compact, promising to comply with the ten principles of Global Compact to fulfill the social responsibilities. In June, Yuchai issued Yuchai Group 2007 Sustainable Report firstly, attracting broad concerns from all works of the life and obtaining the high appraise from UN Global Compact Office. The construction of Yuchai Casting Center is also the deep practice of core concept Green Development and Harmonious Win-win, which is the presentation of consciously performing social responsibilities better. The casting center conducted full considerations on the aspects of green eco-friendly, energy-saving, emission reduction and lightening the labor strength. Its five departments for melting, core manufacturing and molding will adopt highly automated and mechanized production way, which will greatly shorten the production process, lighten the labor strength, eliminate the human factors influencing working procedures, effectively improve the productivity and working procedures quality as well as save energy and resources. The melting department will bravely break the traditional melting technique to use single electric furnace, which will effectively reduce the furnace source cost on n the basis of ensuring the material stability of various casting iron plate and improving the inner quality of casting parts, decrease producing procedures and workers and eliminate the emission pollution of dust produced in the cupola furnace. The molding department makes use of robots to set the core, improving the accuracy so as to ensure the precision of casting parts, which is helpful to further reduce the weight and additional process of casting parts as well as the production cost of casting parts. The casting center will also use the technology of remaining heat back fire for casting parts, for which Yuchai is under the process of applying patent. This technique will make full use of casting remaining heat to reduce the stress and energy consumption in the back furnace to save energy and protect the environment. This technique is mature and applied in the new casting workshop in Yuchai.

In recent three years, Yuchai Group practiced the core concept of Green Development and Harmonious Win-win, striding forward toward internationalization in terms of industrial layout, capital operation, management innovation, product development and talent cultivation. Since 2008, the Group keeps the fast and excellent development status, achieving outstanding accomplishments in the fist half year. It is predicted that the sales income realized a year-on-year increase of 37.5%, reaching the goal of half time and half mission. Yuchai has converted the pursue of rebuilding another Yuchai in three years into reality.

As one of the projects with the greatest investment in Yulin and Yuchai Group, the construction of Yuchai Casting Center is a sign for Strengthening Yuchai to Rejuvenating Yulin to obtain new breakthrough. Yulin Municipal Party Committee and Government lays stress and supports on the project construction, expecting that the project can be built up, put into production and create economic profit as early as possible. The working commission and management commission of Yuchai Industrial Park will make their every effort to upgrade the service quality and work efficiency, further optimizing the environment and promoting the project construction by the spirit of seizing the days.
