McConnellsburg, Pa. (June 13, 2008) – JLG Industries, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE: OSK) company and the world's leading producer of access equipment, has received a delivery order valued at $10.3 million for additional JLG® ATLAS telescopic material handlers under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contract.  The order for 72 ATLAS telehandlers, to be delivered over a six-month period, was awarded by the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM).

 “JLG is proud to support the U.S. military with additional ATLAS telehandlers,” commented Denny Buterbaugh, vice president of government products and programs at JLG.  “The ATLAS model telehandlers were designed specifically to meet the needs of the U.S. military, and have been deployed in Afghanistan, Iraq, Egypt and throughout the continental United States.”   

Since 1997, the ATLAS telehandlers have proven their reliability in a variety of applications, and through all types of environments including mud, sand, water, and other rough terrain.  Over 2,300 ATLAS machines have been fielded throughout the world. While many of them go into combat areas, the ATLAS has also been used in the Hurricane Katrina disaster relief efforts, the Indonesian tsunami clean up, and other international relief efforts.

The ATLAS telehanders can lift and place material weighing 10,000 pounds to heights of nearly 17 feet.  With their detachable counterweight, they can be prepared for air transportation on a C130 in 15 minutes.  They are also air transportable in C-141, C5A and C17 aircraft.
