Konecranes Lifttrucks releases an innovative fleet management system which instantly will enable increased operational efficiency of the truck fleet. The scalable system saves operating cost, enhances utilization as well as quality assurance, and contributes to a safer working environment. The Konecranes Fleet Management System keeps track of running costs versus individual vehicles, drivers and load units in real time. This gives new opportunities to schedule maintenance, identify risks and to methodically evaluate and optimize the factual operations.
Keeps track of operational costs
The Konecranes Fleet Management System contains of sensors including GPS receivers mounted on the vehicles and external devices such as RFID reader and camera. Trucks, drivers, and containers can furthermore be equipped with a unique ID which allows for data retrieval regarding speed and distance between collection point and drop-off point, fuel consumption etc. The system can also report collection- and drop-off co-ordinates, and set alarms at certain given events. Via the keyboard in the cabin, the driver can add data into the system like photos or text files in order to fully document possible deviations etc. The Konecranes Fleet Management System can be used on a single machine as well as an entire truck fleet. All acquired data is stored on a fail-safe third party server.
“We are convinced that the Konecranes Fleet Management System will enable our customers to optimize the use of their truck fleet” - says Mikael Andersson, Product Manager at Konecranes Lifttrucks in
GPS ensures the accuracy of positions in real time
GPS co-ordinates of the truck are presented on a digital map of the area of operations. The real-time operations of the whole truck fleet with load IDs are superimposed onto the map. This will also help identify risk areas such as points of intense traffic. The container-ID will present the GPS-position of every handled container, even stack height.
Safe storage and immediate access
In order to increase security, availability, and longevity of the data, data is transmitted via GSM or WLAN to a fail-safe server at Konecranes premises. Access to data is immediate via any Internet web browser. An extensive set of tools for decision support, report generation and data export is included in the system. This contributes to make the fleet management system fast and easy to use. Data is stored for a long time in the system in order to enable comparative studies over a period of time. Documentation is presented in comprehensible graphs, diagrams and calculation sheets.
Complete IQAN integration
The GSM connection and related SIM card is common to the Konecranes Fleet Management System and the IQANrun Machine Diagnostics. Thanks to this the systems can be fully integrated, enabling efficient technical monitoring on every level.
