On the meeting, Tang Xiuguo emphasized the importance of six-sigma and he considered Six-Sigma to be the arm of management reform in Sany. Six-Sigma is a comprehensive and wholly systematic improvement as well as the advanced represent of refined management and the inevitable choice for the strategic development of Sany. Tang Xiuguo requested to propel Six-Sigma Management in a rapid, full-rounded and deep way so as to improve the refined management level of the company and build up core competitive force to enter World Top 500.
The Director of Quality Supervision Committee Office Zhang Zhihong made specific elaboration and arrangement on “how to actively engage in Six-Sigma Revolution”. He explained that six-sigma management is a systematic improvement method carrying out from the superior level and requiring participation of all the staff in Sany Group rather than relying on several departments or some people. He asked all the staff of the project to practically fulfill their responsibilities in the process of pursuing Six-Sigma.
As a senior SBIT Master Black Belt, Yang Binyu showed his expectation towards the implementation of Six-Sigma in Sany.
In order to cultivate talents on Six-Sigma, Sany encouraged the research & development personnel, management staff and first-line workers to participate in the professional team of Six-Sigma through learning, examining and leading the team to conduct projects. Meanwhile, the company shall refine the design of vocational development channel for the specialized Six-Sigma staff, providing promotion and upgrading chance on specialized posts and managing posts so as to enable Six-Sigma Management to be an attractive and enviable job.
The introduction of Six-Sigma in Sany is planned initially from 2008 to 2010 and will be carried out through three stages: 2008—testing and consolidating stage to realize the enhancement capacity of quality and cost in the whole process; 2009—reproducing and expanding stage to carry forward Six-Sigma all through Sany Group to improve the capacity of comprehensive system and optimize the integration of the supply and demand chain; and 2010—forming stage of corporate culture and management system in which smart and effective sustainable improvement system to form religion-like quality culture in Sany.
In 2008, Six-Sigma will firstly start in Pump Business Department, President Office and Human Resource Department. There are 26 six-sigma projects in the first batch including 8 black belt projects and 18 green belt projects. The projects will improve the refinement management level of Sany’s design, manufacturing, quality and service from three aspects of propelling value chain through orders, product and reform. Then, Six-Sigma Project will be started successively in Road Machinery Company, Crane Company and other functional departments in Changsha Head Company.
