On April 28^th, large-scaled marine engineering manufacturing base—the matching project of Marine Engineering & High-Tech Ship Engineering in Shanghai Lin’gang Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. laid foundation in the Heavy Equipment Industrial Zone in Lin’gang, Nanhui in Shanghai, China. The construction period of this project is for three years, which will promote Shanghai to form manufacturing capacity of whole-set equipments for exploring, storing and transporting marine oil.

The six-generation 3000m deep water semi-submersible drilling platform standing for the advanced level of drilling platform in current world was started to be established in Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.

This is the first time to construct special large-scaled deep water drilling equipments in China. The drilling depth of the platform will be 12000m with designed service life of 30 years and the construction is planned to be finished before the end of 2010.
