On 9th February it was time again for the annual awards of the “Fork Lift Truck Association” (FTLA) in Birmingham. STILL was able to set a new record with its “RX 70” diesel stacker, having now won a total of six awards. STILL was the clear winner in the environment category. This prize is of particularly high value, because it is awarded in an election that is open to all companies in the logistics industry.

The RX 70 proved to be convincing because of its uniquely low consumption of a mere 2.5 litres of diesel per hour of operation, which signifies a saving of up to 50 % in comparison to its competitors. As is also the case with the gas-fuelled stackers that are also available, this low consumption makes possible a modern combustion engine/electrical drive system based on hybrid technology, i.e. intelligent drive control for rpm reduction with uniform driving conditions and a hydraulic control that acts demand-compliantly. The low consumption inevitably results in the lowest CO2 emissions; where no fuel has to be consumed, no emissions will be produced. This is not only finance friendly, but environmentally friendly.

But that is not all: diesel particulate filters and computer-controlled catalytic converters are of course available as equipment options for all RX 70 stackers. Furthermore, on account of the innovative drive system it has been possible to more than double the servicing intervals for the stacker. Hence, the transmission oil no longer has to be changed at all and the service life of the engine oil and of the hydraulic oil has been doubled, which contributes to the conservation of natural resources and to the avoidance of waste. The fact that for many years there has no longer been any tyre spinning on STILL stackers, on account of the electronic reversing control, is just a small contribution to the avoidance of a fine dust incidence.

Ever since the formation of the company in 1920 by Hans Still the company has been in a continuous process of developing into one of the most innovative full-range suppliers for products and services in the intralogistics sector. With over 6000 employees STILL is able to provide its customers all over the world with highly efficient products and perfect fast service.
