Doosan Heavy Industries and Construction posted the highest sales in overseas markets among Korean companies.
According to the statistics by the Ministry of Construction & Transportation announced at the beginning of January this year, Doosan ranked first among Korean companies by winning a total of ten overseas projects including the ‘M’ Project in Jebel Ali in 2006 for a total contract value of US $560 million.
The Ministry of Construction & Transportation said that overseas construction revenue recovered from 2004 to reach US $10.9 billion in 2005 and US $16.5 billion in 2006, and the number rose to US $39.8 billion at the end of last year due to high oil prices.

The Ministry of Construction & Transportation invited over 100 representatives of construction companies including Han-Sik Beak, Vice President of Doosan Construction BG, to its ‘Forum for Celebrating US $30 Billion Overseas Construction Contract’ held on December 3 last year at the Lotte Hotel, Seoul where they presented them with plaques of appreciation.
