Emergency help even faster thanks to a truck donation

Rocla supports the important work of the Red Cross organization

The catastrophe help of the Finnish Red Cross has to be ready for shipping in twenty-four hours since an official appeal. A collapsible health center or hospital is transported by an emergency delivery by plane for victims of environmental catastrophe area such as flow or earthquake. Every minute counts.

Different kind of medicines, bandaging and first aid materials, mother-child clinic, beds, a laboratory, a X-ray equipment  and an operating room are packed into small boxes that are easily transportable even by human power or on donkeys back. Material enough for need of 20 000 – 250 000 people.

Rocla wants to support the important work of the Finnish Red Cross. This year instead of money donation Rocla contributed the Red Cross logistics center a stacker. It satisfied an absolute need as there is rush hours while boxes are moved and lifted from shelves. If there happens a catastrophe in the world, the goods have to be ready in 24 hours.

The Finnish Red Cross’ Logistic Center is situated in an old factory building that has four floors. After cooperative studies it turned out that the most suitable model for the Red Cross was Rocla SW12 stacker that was tailored to fit into elevator. A mast was lowered.

-Our own “Sheep” gives us a great pleasure, says Outi Amanor. She works as an international help designer. Until now there has only be one truck that has shuttled between the four floors.

Ms Amanor and her colleagues respond that on the selves there are always current medical stuffs, bandage material and other equipment and that they ready to be used if needed. The following of expiring dates and exact maintenance require regular lifting and transporting.

She mentions Rocla’s donation to be different. Very often companies give either money or clothes that end to people in need. This donation was directly supporting the Red Cross’ actions and they ability to help.

The latest crisis faced Pakistan last summer as an exceptional hard hurricane hit the area and due to the flow even 400 000 people lost their home. And hot temperature over +40 degrees and blazing sun shine complicated the circumstances. A rescue unit of 12 aid workers, such as nurses and doctors, and two jeep transportable clinics were delivered from Tampere.

Even worldwide looked Finland can be proud as it is one of tree countries in the world that has the capacity of sending clinics and hospitals.
