DIMF was an opportunity for the company to elevate its stature as a technology leader in the machine tool industry. Newly applied technologies were introduced such as ultra-high-speed machining centers with thermal displacement compensation capabilities, nano-precision cutters, and multifunction machining and turning centers with built-in 3D collision control. The die and mold machining center line was also bolstered with eleven new models.
The Machine Tools BG also applied design innovations to make over its products at this year’s DIMF. High quality paint jobs, simplified exteriors with fresh colors, and ergonomically designed peripheral equipment layouts helped to project an uncomplicated and powerful yet trustworthy image.
The BG showroom included a new Virtual Reality Room that allows viewers to confirm Doosan Infracore’s technological prowess visually. The internal architecture of the products and previews of their operation are shown in 3D simulations.
At the opening ceremony, Executive Vice-president & COO Kim Woong-bum said, “We plan to sell more than ten thousand machine tools this year to surpass W1 trillion in revenue. By 2010, Doosan Infracore machine tool sales will be ranked second in the world and by 2015, we aim to have reached the top spot with annual output of 20,000 units.”
