Southaven, Miss. (July 11, 2007) – Terex® Fuchs celebrates 50 years of production this year in the company’s manufacturing facility based in the Mingolsheim district of Bad Schönborn, Germany. The Mingolsheim plant manufactures Terex® Fuchs loading machines for use in recycling, scrap and timber harvesting, as well as in port operations industries. The facility currently employs more than 340 people.
To celebrate the golden anniversary, Mingolsheim employees will host an open house July 14 at the facilities. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the process of manufacturing some very interesting machines, says Ron de Vries, general manager of Terex® Fuchs.
“The start of production in Mingolsheim was an important milestone that is still influencing the company’s development,” says de Vries. “Our robust and powerful machines are delivered from Mingolsheim to places all over the world.”
In 1957, the Fuchs 301 excavator was one of the first machines to come off the production line when operations started in Mingolsheim. Throughout the years, the Mingolsheim facility produced 15,000 Fuchs excavators. Prior to 1957, the company had specialized in the development and manufacturing of agricultural equipment and had started early development of its excavator line.
