Bibby Distribution has appointed a new general manager for its award-winning tanker operations team, with a focus on spearheading growth for the 3PL’s bulk division.

Gilles Létard, 55, joins Bibby Distribution’s Food and Ingredients team, bringing more than 30 years’ experience in senior sales, operational and management positions. His previous roles include Head of Commercial, Europe & Americas at Suttons Transport Group and Managing Director of Norbert Dentressangle’s UK bulk division.

At Bibby Distribution, he will manage the company’s major contracts with a focus on developing Bulk Transport & Logistics at European level.

Bibby Distribution was named Tanker Operator of the Year at the Tip-Ex/Tank-Ex Awards 2016. Its Food and Ingredients team provides a variety of supply chain services to manufacturers, including milk collection from farms, importation of fruit juice from Europe and delivery of liquid glucose to confectionery manufacturers. The diverse team comprises more than 300 staff at nine locations across the UK.
