IFOY Award 2014: STILL nominated in three categories
转载 2014-02-22 10:11 STILL Source:STILLProducts made by Hamburg-based company STILL have been shortlisted in three of the four IFOY Award categories: counterbalanced forklift trucks, warehouse handling equipment, driverless transport systems.
Nominations for the International Forklift Truck of the Year (IFOY) Award are in! With three nominations in three categories, Hamburg firm STILL could well be on their way to winning another of the coveted awards this year. The STILL RX 70-50 diesel and LP gas forklift truck is nominated in the 3.5-tonne lifting capacity counterbalanced forklift trucks category. Shortlisted in the warehouse handling equipment category is the STILL EK-X high-level order picker, which has a context-sensitive OPTISPEED system to control the driving speed, based on the lift height and load weight, with a reach height of 12 metres.
Adding to the list of nominees is the STILL iGo Easy automation solution, which has been selected in the driverless transport system category. This nominee is world's first-ever system solution for simple, standardised orders which makes full configuration, control and monitoring possible using an iPad. The combination of iPad and driver-free pallet stacker EGV-S makes it ideal for use in areas where goods transport was previously only sensible with a manually driven forklift truck. As such, iGo Easy offers you a quick and uncomplicated introduction into the world of automation, especially as installation and customisation can be done independently in next to no time.
Who ultimately comes out on top and wins the IFOY Award 2014 will largely be determined by the results of the IFOY Test, which all nominated trucks will undergo over the course of one week in March at Deutsche Messe AG – the Hanover Fairground exhibition area. This year for the very first time, the international panel of industry journalists will also use the IFOY innovation check as another important factor in their decision. The innovation 'expertise' provided by specialists at the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics (IML) will focus in particular on the innovativeness of each product in comparison to their direct competitors.
The IFOY Award will be presented as part of the CeMAT, the world's leading intralogistics trade fair, opening ceremony in Hanover on 19 May. Last year, the STILL RX 70 Hybrid won the IFOY Award in the counterbalanced forklift trucks up to 3.5 tonnes category.
