Konecranes received an order for two heavy-duty industrial cranes from Siemens AG in December 2013. The cranes will be installed at the 414 megawatt (MW) San Gabriel combined cycle power plant in Batangas Bay in the Philippines. The cranes will have a lifting capacity of 370 and 80 tons, and will be delivered in autumn 2014. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the order.

Konecranes has delivered industrial cranes to the same customer and power plant before. The plant is planned to be extended and lifting equipment is needed to the new unit. The cranes will be used in the turbine hall during the construction phase and afterwards primarily when turbines are serviced.
