The new Loadall from JCB Construction Equipment Australia is a range of telehandlers capable of lifting loads higher than any other rigid model on the market.

Offering a lift load capacity of four tonnes and lift height of up to 20 metres, the Loadall 540-200 has been designed to meet industry demand for increased lift heights and forward reach capabilities. The new Loadall sets a new benchmark for productivity with fast cycle times, says JCB product manager Greg Sealey.

The boom has been specifically designed for the construction market, using lighter, higher grade material to improve the reach capacity of the machine. Greg explains that a five-stage boom design ensures the overall machine length is kept to a minimum while maximising site manoeuvrability. The design also provides optimum forward visibility, allowing for quick and easy changes in direction.

The one-piece design of the boom nose minimises stresses on the inner boom during operation. The nose is also fitted with a JCB Clearview carriage for quick and easy interchange of attachments. The excellent forward visibility of fork mounted loads makes it easier for operators to accurately lift and place loads; a fork positioning attachment, which is simply operated through the standard single auxiliary, is also available optionally.

The machine’s stabiliser package is set forward to maximise stability even at great working heights, providing a compact yet stable machine footprint and complete operator peace of mind. The 540-200 telehandler uses the same proven driveline as JCB’s current flagship 540-170 machine, enabling an excellent turning circle over the tyres for great manoeuvrability even in very tight construction sites.

The 540-200 is fitted with a JCB Dieselmax 100hp engine, and a large bonnet provides easy access to daily check points. The new telehandler’s design is driven by factors such as ease of use, operator safety and comfort. A cab-mounted servo controlled joystick provides effortless control of all the hydraulic services, and instruments are offset to one side of the cab to ensure excellent forward visibility. Angled roof bars provide excellent upward visibility, which is important for fast placing of loads at height.
