Showing its ongoing commitment to the waste and recycling sectors, Toyota Material Handling UK will present an industry specific product display on stand L59-K58 at the RWM show, one of Europe's leading waste management events, held from 10th - 12th September 2013 at NEC Birmingham.

The trucks on show at the NEC Birmingham have been chosen for their suitability to work in the waste and recycling sector, and includes: the Toyota Tonero engine-powered forklift fitted with a waste recycling clamp, BT Levio powered pallet truck, BT Lifter hand pallet truck with weight indicator, BT Pro Lifter and the Toyota half refurbished forklift, showing before and after the preparation process.

The star of the show will be the Toyota Tonero diesel forklift. The Tonero range offers a choice of load capacities from 1.5 up to 3.5 tonnes and a choice of diesel and LPG industrial engines for optimum performance and durability and reliability – essential when working in demanding environments.

The diesel forklift on stand will be equipped with optional Toyota Safety Plus and Productivity Plus packages. Safety Plus includes maximum driving speed limitation and controlled acceleration when carrying load at height, programmable speed limiter as well as load weight indicator, all designed to reduce the risk of damage to the goods or injury to the driver. The Productivity Plus feature available includes; swivel seat which turns and locks for easier reversing, rear assist grip that relieves operator back strain when reversing and hydraulic cushioned forks for driving on uneven ground.

In additional, the truck will be equipped with an optional specialised waste clamp, supplied by the Toyota-owned company, Cascade Attachments.

The Tonero forklift has been developed to address key industry concerns of safety and durability.  Featuring Toyota’s System of Active Stability (SAS), the Tonero helps operators to manoeuvre the truck confidently and safely. The chassis of the truck is designed in rugged steel for maximum durability, combined with enclosed connectors to resist water and dust, allowing the Tonero to operate in tough environments.

Toyota can tailor the truck with a range of specialist options including air inlet pre-filters and radiator screens to further increase protection against dust and debris.  A range of clamps and attachments are available for safe, efficient handling.

The part-refurbished Toyota forklift illustrates the quality of the company's used equipment which offers, as the firm describes, 'excellent durability and value for money'. All of Toyota’s used equipment comes from its own rental fleet which has been looked after by the company, from new, with genuine Toyota and BT parts.  All trucks are refurbished at the UK fleet management facility to a specified finish level that meets the needs and budget of the new owner.

Toyota will also be showing how its hand pallet truck solutions can provide a low cost solution for applications in the waste industry.  The BT Lifter hand pallet truck with weight indicator (LHM230WI) provides an estimate of load weight during the handling process without delaying the movement of goods.

In addition, the BT Pro Lifter hand pallet truck (LHM230P) which requires up to 67% less starting effort than the standard hand pallet truck will be demonstrated on the stand. This feature make the BT Pro Lifter what Toyota describes as 'the ergonomic choice for optimal safety and productivity.'
