A range of hazardous area mobile power solutions for the oil and gas industry will be on display at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC 2013) in Houston, Texas, USA on the Pyroban stand number 2341-A, UK Pavilion.

Visitors will see detailed scale models of mobile power units suitable for safe operation in Zone 2 hazardous areas including a Pyroban powerpack, a genset, an air compressor package, and a forklift truck. All Pyroban products are certified to European Directives as well as US standards.

“We provide explosion protection up-fit kits for almost any size and brand of engine with current projects in our factories involving Perkins, Cummins, Volvo, John Deere, MTU, Detroit and Caterpillar brands.” says Mark Jackson, Business Manager, Pyroban, explaining that Pyroban also supplies complete explosion proof mobile power packages and converts forklifts and mobile equipment for use in hazardous areas.

The scale models on display show how Pyroban systems eliminate the risk of explosion from hot surfaces, sparks, overspeed and other hazards, which is reflected in the real-life application examples featured on display screens on the stand.

“We aim to show visitors how it is possible to retrofit explosion protection to engines onsite” says Gary Smith, Business Development Manager – Oil and Gas, Pyroban. “Many companies believe that to protect engines and equipment against the risk of an explosion, a new engine must be purchased, or that the conversion must happen offsite, but we are highlighting that Pyroban trained engineers can fit equipment anywhere. This also helps to reduce transport costs.” Pyroban systems include exhaust gas coolers, inlet shut-off valves, spark and flame arrestors and other explosion proof components.
Also on display, will be a range of individual explosion proof components manufactured by Pyroban Group companies such as switches, valves and spark arrestors suitable for oil and gas applications. In addition, Pyroban will show its innovative Ex-SIT, a revolutionary super insulated exhaust ducting system, which allows the safe extraction and removal of hot exhaust fumes from an engine without the need for a heat exchanger and cooling system.

Pyroban’s hazardous area Consulting and Training services will also be discussed at the show together with Pyroban’s global support network and information about recent improvements and significant investments in manufacturing and engineering.

“OTC provides a valuable opportunity to engage with new and existing customers and to discuss existing and new projects within the oil and gas sector,” confirms Mark Jackson.
