Gino Butera Named Vice President, Managing Director and Cummins Africa ABO Leader

Butera is taking over for Ron Somerville who announced his retirement late last week. The transition will begin in April, with Butera assuming full responsibility by June.
“Our Africa strategy requires us to identify and select our best to lead, grow our business, and set up world class customer sales, service and support throughout the Continent,” said Pamela Carter, Vice President and President, Distribution Business, Cummins Inc. “Gino is one of our best, most experienced and most respected leaders in Cummins. We are confident that he will continue the strong momentum our recent leaders and team have begun.”
Butera served as the Executive Managing Director of the Asia Pacific distribution business since 2008. This region includes a number of strategically important, high growth Distribution Business Unit geographies including South Pacific (Australia / New Zealand), Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, China, and India. Under his leadership, the Asia Pacific distribution business has achieved over 1 billion dollars in revenue.
Prior to his current role, Butera has held a number of leadership and line roles, including the managing director of the South Pacific Distribution business, the CFO and Director of Corporate Services for the South Pacific ABO, and a number of finance roles in Australia and Columbus, Indiana. Gino holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Monash University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
