In March of 2012 Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) announced their investment in a new headquarters for Toyota Material Handling Deutschland (TMHDE). The 36,000m2 plus site is located in Isernhagen, Germany, just outside of Hanover and will accommodate 200 TMHDE employees. On 8th February 2013 the Groundbreaking ceremony took place.
The event was attended by local politicians, journalists and Toyota employees, including TMHE CEO and President Matthias Fischer and TMHDE Managing Director Norman Memminger. Golden shovels were used to mark the occasion. The construction process will be a KISO project and the new facility will incorporate environmentally sustainable features, including a reduced need for transport and an energy efficient design. These new headquarters will allow TMHDE to concentrate all of its central functions into one consolidated location, which will provide a platform for planned future growth. The project completion date is set for the end of 2013.
