On November 27, Bauma China 2012—2012 International Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Construction Vehicles and Equipment was grandly opened at Shanghai New International Expo Center. As one of the four world exhibitions for construction machinery industry, Bauma China was also regarded from the aspects of importance, exhibition ranges and popularity as the No.1 exhibition of construction machinery in China and Asian area.

Bauma China 2012 made new breakthroughs with an expanded exhibition area, attracting more than 170,000 visitors at home and abroad. 2700 exhibitors from 40 countries and districts showed their construction machinery, building materials, industrial vehicles and equipment in the wide exhibition zones exceeding 300,000 square meters. Bauma China had become the best way to enter the construction machinery market, and was a platform for the professionals to expand their business and communicate with each other. Superiors including Su Zimeng, the Secretary General of China Construction Machinery Association (CCMA), Wang Ming the Chairman of the Board of XCMG, person in charge of Consulates-Generals in Shanghai, leaders from Shanghai Municipal Government and managers of the sponsors of Bauma China attended the opening ceremony.

In the speech on the opening ceremony, Su Zimeng, the Secretary General of China Construction Machinery Association (CCMA) said that in 2012, the construction machinery market in China moved into an adjustment stage, and the slow-down increasing rate of the macro economy faced the construction machinery industry with great dilemma. The development of the industry asked for the rationale, and hoped for a stable and steady increasing period. 2012 was an important year for the upgrade and structure adjustment for construction machinery enterprises in China, and Bauma China 2012 would witness such kind of great moment.

Till 2012, Bauma China has moved into its tenth year. As an exhibition held every two years, the exhibition area of Bauma China expanded, the visitors in the industry doubled, and it had become to be the largest construction machinery expo in Asia. At Bauma China 2012, the state-of-arts products in the construction machinery industry at home and abroad were gathered together, and lots of industrial vehicle manufacturers were attracted with their newly launched products, such as Anhui Heli, Chery, Lonking, Xiagong, Liugong, Shantui, YTO, Sany, JAC, Beijing Hyundai, Goodsense, Maximal, Noblelift, Doosan (China), Sunward, Kipor and Shandong Guangming. Also a number of industrial vehicle parts manufacturers showed their products at the exhibition, including Weichai Engine, Linde Hydraulics, Yanmar, Isuzu, Kubota, Cummins, Perkins, Zhenjiang Hydraulics, Hangzhou Benfeng, Eaton Fluid Power and Xieli Instrument.

During the exhibition, the enterprises held press conferences to promote their new products to attract the visitors. Among them, Chery Heavy Duty held a global launching ceremony for their construction machinery brands, Shantui and Liugong held a press conference for the new products, attracting lots of the visitors, purchasers and media around the world.

This exhibition was co-sponsored by Messe München, MMI (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., China Construction Machinery Association (CCMA), China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Machinery Sub-Council (CCPIT-MSC) and China Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. there were crowds of visitors in the first day of the exhibition, and Bauma China 2012 brought a diversified exhibition experience for the exhibitors and visitors.
