On October 24, 2011, China Industrial Truck Institution of China Construction Machinery Association (CITA) held the fifth member meeting, also the 2011 CITA Annual Meeting in Pudong Shenggao Holiday Hotel in Pudong New District, Shanghai, China.

The meeting was presided over by Zhang Jie, Secretary General of CITA. On the rostrum were the honorable guests, including Director General of CITA Lu Daming, Deputy Director of Performance Inspection & Coordination Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Jing Xiaobo, Secretary General of China Construction Machinery Association (CITA) Su Zimeng, Secretary General of ITA from America Bill, Director of Bureau of Safety Supervision on Special Equipment of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of People’s Republic of China Shang Hong, the Director of China Hoisting & Conveying Equipment Quality Supervision and Inspection Center Wang Shunting, Chief Engineer of Anhui Heli Co., Ltd. Ma Qingfeng, Chairman of the Board of Zhejiang Hangcha Group Zhao Limin and CEO of Linde (China) Forklift Co., Ltd. Chingpong Quek. Nearly 150 representatives from the forklift manufacturing enterprises, spare part manufacturers and related media in the forklift industry took part in the meeting. As one of the member unit of CITA, Chinaforklift.com (www.chinaforklift.com, English version: www.forkliftnet.com) was also invited to attend the meeting.

Director General of CITA Lu Daming delivered a speech on the meeting, making a review and conclusion to the working plan of CITA in 2011. According to Director General Lu, CITA had accomplished the following issues: playing the role of being the bridges and bonds between the member units and the industry; enhancing the management and control of the industry; sophisticating the statistics; improving the training process; promoting the international communications and conducting the propaganda of the industry.

Deputy Director of Performance Inspection & Coordination Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Jing Xiaobo firstly congratulated the successful run of the meeting, and then made an elaborated analysis on the macro economic situation in China, the situation of the industrial truck industry and the related issues in recent years.

Secretary General of China Construction Machinery Association (CITA) Su Zimeng made a speech in the theme of Overall Operation Situation and Future Prospects of Construction Machinery Industry in China, looking forward to the status of construction machinery industry in China at present and in the future, and proposing certain instructions and suggestions to the development of construction machinery industry in China.

Secretary General of ITA from America Bill also gave a speech. Taking the theme of Status of Industrial Truck Market in America, he followed the main guideline of cooperation and competition and analyzed the international industrial truck market as well as the competitive and interdependent relationship between the industrial truck markets respectively in America and China.

Secretary General of CITA Zhang Jie delivered her address titled in Brief Introduction to the Domestic Industrial Truck Market in 2011. She made a detailed presentation to the industrial truck market in the global world and also in China, concluded the developing tendency of China’s forklift industry in the past two years according to the data collected in these years and the policies issued by the government that were benefited for the growth of industrial truck industry, and finally made an analysis on the developing trend of industrial truck market and the related issued worthy of concerns in the future.

Besides the speeches given by the guests, the meeting also held the awarding ceremony for China Excellent Suppliers for Industrial Trucks. It was the first time for this award, which went to 20 suppliers popular in China who supplied matching spare parts for the industrial trucks, including Zhejiang Xinchai, Cascade, Kaup, Wanda, KDS and Jiachen. Chingpong Quek from Linde (China) Forklift Co., Ltd. presented the medals to the representatives.  

On the meeting in the afternoon, representative industrial truck manufacturers and spare parts manufacturers in China delivered their speeches.

Chief Engineer of Anhui Heli Co., Ltd. Ma Qingfeng gave a speech on the title of Industrial Development and Planning for Enterprises. He analyzed the economic situation in China and the world in 2011, saying that the economic growth mode was urged to transfer and the promotion and upgrade of the industry should be put on a higher agenda. In the speech, he also presented some ideas on the current situation of industrial truck market, the prospects in the future, strategic planning, development goal, adjustments to the structure of the industry and also his suggestions as the conclusion.

The secretary of the Director Board in Hangcha Group Wang Buxi made an address in the theme of To Be the First-Class Forklift Manufacturer in China. He firstly reviewed the development situation of Hangcha in recent years, and indicated that Hangcha had made their general goal for the twelfth Five-year Planning, which planned that by the year 2015, Hangcha would have sold 120,000 sets of forklifts and exported 30,000 sets of forklifts, while the operational revenue of the Group would reach 15 billion Yuan. By that time, he said, Hangcha would try their best to stand among the first-class forklift manufacturers as one of World Top Five Forklift Manufacturers.

Huang Min, Vice President of Guangxi Liugong Machinery Co., Ltd. (LiuGong) gave his speech titled as Strategic Development Solutions of LiuGong in Twelfth Five-Year Planning to all the attendees.

Vice Chairman of the Board Du Haiming from Zhejiang Xinchai Co., Ltd. said in the speech with the title of Focusing on Segmented Market and Building Excellent Diesel Engine Base that among the various forklift engine brands, Xinchai products had sound marketing foundation relying on the thirty-years’ supervision and inspection of the market. He showed his hope on the forklift industry, expecting that the demand of forklifts would continue to increase in a fast and steady way.

The Vice General Manager of Hefei Changyuan Hydraulics Co., Ltd. Wang Zhian addressed in the speech titled in Creating National Brand to Contribute for the Development of Industrial Truck Hydraulics in China, conducting an analysis on the history of Changyuan and the situation of the company in the industry of spare parts used on forklifts. He said that Changyuan had always took the mission of being dedicated to the research and application of hydraulic technology to meet the demands of the market with quality products and timely service and to feed back the society, and the company had spared no effort to become an enterprise with competitive force to stand on the international market.

Last but not the least, Wang Zhigang, the Marketing Director of Kim Tae-Shunde Desheng Electric Co., Ltd. made a speech on Development Trend of Motors for Material Handling Equipment in the Future, and extended his speech into seven themes to talk about the application of KDS products on the narrow aisle forklifts and hybrid forklifts, the use of permanent magnet linear synchronous motor on the forklifts and the use of switched reluctance motor on the forklifts.

At the end of the meeting, the guests communicated closely with each other, and made the meeting minutes together.
