Transmon Engineering Ltd was a runner up in the Safety category of the FLTA Awards 2010 and is delighted with the recognition its shortlisted Zone Speed Savure system received.
Manufacturer and supplier of 'add-on' forklift solutions, Transmon Engineering, was one of six companies shortlisted in the Safety category of the Forklift Truck Association (FLTA) Awards, which was held at Barceló Hinckley Island Hotel in Leicestershire on Saturday 27 February.
"Transmon is dedicated to helping businesses run a safer materials handling fleet" says Paul Sercombe of Transmon Engineering. "So it was an honour for our Zone Speed Savure system to be shortlisted for the Safety Award this year".
Transmon Engineering's Zone Speed Savure is designed to prevent forklift operators from exceeding a pre-defined speed limit in a specified zone and is particularly useful in operations with pedestrianised areas, long travel distances or for specialist applications that require minimal movement or activity around high risk products.
"Restricted speed helps managers to have better control when enforcing speed limits onsite. It also enhances pedestrians' safety around forklift trucks by allowing more time to avoid potential accidents" Paul explains. "The Zone Speed Savure brings the added benefit of sustained efficiency, and can in some cases enhance the level of productivity".
Transmon Engineering helps materials handling fleets improve levels of safety and efficiency as well as become environmentally friendly by fitting electronic devices and fleet management systems. Transmon solutions can be fitted to all types of IC and electric forklift trucks, usually within a day and should be used in conjunction with proper driver training and supervision
