Flexible Reach Truck Lifts the International Marathon Torch
转载 2010-01-07 10:04 Linde Source:LindeOn January 2, the first 2010 International Marathon was successfully held in the charming seaside scenic course in Xiamen. IAAF, the governing body of world athletics awarded Xiamen International Marathon the "IAAF Gold Label Race" for the 3rd consecutive year.
2010 is a landmark in the history of marathon races, as it would be the 2500th year since the origin of marathon race from the legend of Pheidipidis, who is said to have run the distance from the battlefield near Marathon to Athens to announce the Greek victory against the Persians in 490 BC. Linde (China) is proud to be part of this historical moment by lifting the Marathon Torch. Linde's R14S reach truck demonstrated the flexibility and precision by lifting Miss Bai Xue, reigining world marathon champion steadily to complete the Marathon Torch lighting ceremony.
Mr. CP Quek, CEO of Linde (China) who was there to subsequently flag off the marathon runners said: "We are honored to contribute to the success of such a prestigious international sporting event."
After the Marathon Torch lighting ceremony, Linde's flexible reach truck also assumed the role to provide Xiamen Daily and Xiamen TV an elevated platform for capturing the best view of the event.
