FLEXILIFT Australia says articulated forklift trucks can help warehouse operators save space and get the most from their storage area.

According to Flexilift Australia, its FLEXI articulated forklift truck has helped clients increase pallet storage capacity by 30 to 50%.

Flexilift Australia claims the articulated forklift truck works outside as effectively as a counterbalance truck. By using one truck to do the work of two, the FLEXI articulated forklift truck eliminates double handling.

Articulated forklift trucks enter an aisle with the palletised load to the front then articulate before turning the pallet through 90 degrees to put it away. They can operate in aisles of 2000mm width. This allows narrower aisles and more bays within a given space.

The FLEXI has a design which enables it to pick up and load like a counterbalanced forklift and also work in very narrow aisles, lifting up to 2000kg to heights of 12m.

Flexilift Australia says the most important dimensions when assessing the ideal aisle width for any operation involving articulated forklift trucks is the distance diagonally across the pallet. Safety clearance of 100mm either side of a typical pallet will need to be added to ensure safe pallet put-away and retrieval.
