IRVINE, Calif., (March 3, 2009) – For the fifth consecutive year, Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A., Inc.’s (TMHU) lift trucks have been named number one in quality and value in an independent survey conducted by Reed Business Information.

The annual survey was conducted by Reed Business Information’s Research group on behalf of Modern Materials Handling magazine to help evaluate the current state, trends and practices in manufacturing, warehousing and distribution environments. Responses were collected from 433 industry decision-makers involved in the purchasing of material handling equipment, products, technologies and services.

“This annual survey provides valuable feedback from a critical audience - those who rely on lift trucks to run their daily operations,” said Brett Wood, president of TMHU. “During these challenging economic times, it is especially meaningful for Toyota to be named number one in value. And in the interest of ‘continuous improvement,’ Toyota will further its efforts to raise the bar in addressing the evolving product and service needs of our customers.”

Respondents represented companies from a wide range of industries, including: wholesale trade, electronic equipment, food and beverages, retail trade and fabricated metals. Specific topics represented in the survey include best practices, the purchase decision process for materials handling solutions, methods for evaluating manufacturing and warehouse operations, economic impact on materials handling organizations and usage of and investments in technology and materials handling solutions.
