Toyota Launches Evolutionary New Reach Truck

Toyota Material Handling has launched a new generation of their hugely successful BT Reflex reach truck. The new Reflex represents an evolution in reach truck design, leading to improvements in safety, productivity, drivability and durability.

The combination of BT experience in serving some of the biggest customers in the market and Toyota's production expertise has brought about the evolution of an uncompromising truck. The Reflex addresses the areas that thousands of users across Europe identified as critical to their success.

Unsurprisingly safety was identified as a clear priority and the Reflex delivers a raft of changes to ensure operators have the safest possible working environment.

A clear view of the forks, load and operating environment allows drivers to manoeuvre confidently and safely. A redesigned chassis gives class leading visibility in all directions. A low sloping console, angling away from the driver, affords a clear view of the forks and support arms whilst a fan shaped over-head guard gives excellent visibility of the load at height.

The unique BT tilting cab further improves visibility for intensive, high stacking operations, simultaneously positioning both the operator and instrument pane for a clear view as the forks gain height.

Smart design allows the Reflex to deliver increased productivity whilst also increasing battery performance. Powerful AC motors lead to increased acceleration, lift and travel speeds, reducing cycle times. Transitional lift control provides smooth careful handling throughout the lifting range, eliminating the stop: start effect that saps power and can destabilise a load.

Driveability is enhanced with independently adjustable controls, steering console and seat positions to allow operators to find a comfortable driving position, ideal for intensive, multi shift operations where a number of drivers use the same truck.

The BT Reflex range is built to last. Produced using the Toyota Production System to deliver consistently excellent standards of quality and reliability, the range features heavy-duty drive units and gear boxes for extended durability in the most demanding operations. Fewer parts, along with advanced components - such as totally brushless motors and leak-free hydraulic connectors - help ensure that the BT Reflex works harder for longer.

Customers who wish to tailor the performance of their truck to meet a particular business need can now select from a range of Plus Packages; competitively priced, factory fitted options that enhance the safety, durability, productivity and drivability to meet the needs of the UK's most demanding operations.

"From advanced electronics innovative design, to powerful, efficient motors for safe, highly productive operation - the BT Reflex sets new standards in intelligent reach truck design," says Mark Ogden, product manager for reach trucks, Toyota Material Handling. "More than 60 years of BT warehouse equipment expertise has gone into designing these trucks, and customers can count on the BT Reflex for the highest levels of quality and value."
