In 2008, engine industry in China celebrated its 100-year commemoration. Yuchai won China Century Achievement Award of Engine Industry with its development highly recognized by the professionals.

In October, a series of ceremonies to commemorate the 100-year development of engine industry in China was sponsored and held by China Internal of Combustion Engine Industry of Association, China Machinery Industry Federation and Chinese Society for Internal Combustion Engines in Beijing. President of China Machinery Industry Federation Yu Zhen put forward that after century’s development, especially in these 30 years after opening and reform, the internal combustion engine industry in China has walked out an independent and encouraging development road from weak to strong. At present, China has developed to be one of the largest engine manufacturers in the world. In the coming days, the internal combustion engine industry in China will fasten the pace to regulate and optimize the structure of the industry, which will also march forward to a new way on the starting point of 100-year through improving the fusion of informationalization and industrialization and cultivating branded groups with international competition forces.

On the commemoration ceremony, Yuchai was honored China Century Achievement Award of Engine Industry attributing to its exemplification position in the field of internal combustion engine industry and outstanding social contribution during the developing course of internal combustion engines.
