The 2nd Annual Meeting of China Port & Harbor Association Science & Technology Commission 2007-2008 Members (Meeting for short) was held in Liuzhou on July 6th. This meeting was sponsored by China Port & Harbor Association Science & Technology Commission and undertaken by Guangxi Liugong Machinery Co., Ltd. (LiuGong). As one of the most important platforms for domestic ports, this meeting gathered company leaders including Vice-President of Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd. Bao Qifan as well as the port supervisors from other 30 ports such as Ningbo Port, Guangzhou Port, Tianjin Port, Qingdao Port, Qinhuangdao Port, Dalian Port, Rizhao Port, Nantong Port and Fangcheng Port. Leaders from Liuzhou Municipal Government and LiuGong showed their great interests and concerns on the meeting. The Mayor of Liuzhou, Chairman of the Board and President from LiuGong attended the meeting and gave speeches respectively.

With the rapid development of relevant industries such as port, mines and non-ferrous metal, the demands on construction machinery grows heavily. Several years ago, the loader market for high-end users from ports and mines were monopolized by foreign brands while domestic brands could only hang about around the second-line market. As the competition in this market was so fierce and there was little room for premium price, it’s quite difficult for the enterprise to promote the profitable capacity and brand images. In order to initiate their own “blue ocean” markets, LiuGong paid more attention on the development of high-end users and key customers, which erected their brand image on high-end market. Presently, LiuGong’s products have successfully entered more than 90% of port enterprises and 80% of nonferrous metal enterprise with annual sales of RMB 200 million Yuan.

The leaders at higher level in LiuGong concerned a lot about the meeting, investing great for the initial preparation. Meanwhile, the meeting also was participated actively and praised highly by the attending representatives. Vice-President of Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd. Bao Qifan referred in his address:” LiuGong not only provided quality products, but also significant support and help to hold the meeting. The arrangement and scale of meeting site have enhanced our meeting into a higher class, through which we can feel the sincerity of LiuGong and know more about LiuGong. Through undertaking this meeting, LiuGong laid sound foundation to communicate with each port, promoted the brand image and customer recognition degree and presented out the wish of LiuGong to conduct cooperation with the ports so as to create a win-win platform.
