To unload a ship as fast as possible involves handling multiple reels (up to 8 at a time) as they are offloaded from the ship to the warehouse.

Millions of tons of goods of all types transit in ports annually, and as soon as a ship docks, it is paramount for the stevedores to carry out the loading and unloading operations at the maximum speed. These material handling processes often involve paper rolls having a considerable unit cost and having different dimensions and weights. This typically involves handling multiple reels (up to 8 at a time) as they are offloaded from the ship to the warehouse.

As paper rolls are prone to damage, it is important to equip the forklift truck with a state-of-the-art paper roll clamp ready to handle several paper roll types.

THE DRIVER NO LONGER HAS TO WORRY ABOUT THE CLAMPING FORCE

The CTX G3 automatic clamp force control system for paper roll clamps uses tested technical solutions in combination with state-of-the-art electronics. Suitable for all handling situations and all types of paper: using the lowest possible clamping force minimizes the possibility of paper roll out-of-roundness. Initially, the clamp uses a preset pressure. Then, several times a second, the computer checks the pressure with which the roll is being squeezed and adjusts the pressure accordingly.

The clamps take into account handling factors such as paper quality, roll weight and diameter, contact pad friction, roll packing friction and environmental factors: they are, in fact, the perfect solution for wet and windy environments such as ports.

They also allow easy entry into narrow stowed stacks, thanks to the slim design of the contact pads. Often, in fact, the stowage on board can be very close and so that in the warehouses.
