Kalmar Port Machinery (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.

Swire Energy Services (SES) has taken delivery of its new fleet of electric forklift trucks. Working with long-term supplier Groundwater Lift Trucks, SES procured 10 new Kalmar Electric ECG trucks, ranging from 8 to 16 T capacity.

SES has added Kalmar electric forklifts

Built on the G-Generation platform, the new range of completely electric-powered forklift trucks deliver both power and performance, while minimising carbon emissions and fuel costs.

Sustainability is a top priority for SES, one that is reflected in the group's commitment to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.

"Across our global operations, diesel-powered forklifts represent a major source of CO2 emissions. The commissioning of these trucks will save around 250 T of CO2 equivalent per annum, a significant contribution towards our global reduction target," the company says in a statement.

Andy Moig, group sustainability manager at Swire Energy Services, notes that SES is "continually seeking out the most advanced technology to replace carbon-intense equipment and processes".

Supplier Groundwater Lift Trucks, meanwhile, notes that the new Kalmar ECG range perfectly match SES's needs. The new range offers both power and performance, while reducing the carbon footprint and fuel costs.

Groundwater Lift Truck managing director Barry Groundwater says: "I think the Swire Energy Services contract is a great example that highlights the lengths we are willing to go to in order to guarantee customer satisfaction. If a customer has a request, we will do all that we can to make that happen."
