Wheel and castor manufacturer Raeder-Vogel has completed the expansion of its second production facility.

Raeder-Vogel has completed the expansion of its second production facility

The expansion, which has been under way for two years, is aimed at enabling the family-run company to meet the steadily increasing demands of its international customer base even faster and at the highest quality.

The plant has been expanded by 3,700 sqm and its production lines have been extensively modernised.

"Not only do our customers place the highest standards on the quality of our products, but additional demand in certain segments is also steadily increasing," says Carsten Henning, managing director of Raeder-Vogel. "The expansion and modernisation of our main facility - one of the largest investments made in our company's history - was therefore a major and important step for the satisfaction of our customers. And besides that, it is also a clear commitment to wheels and castors 'Made in Germany' and to our location.

"We are now optimally positioned for the future," he notes.

The upgrade included the installation of an automated casting line for Vulkollan, enhanced cleaning systems and a new, fully automated load carrier unit.

Working conditions have been enhanced, with more ergonomic and spacious workplaces featuring more daylight and improved air intake and exhaust.

In addition, the material flow has been optimised and made more user-friendly through the adjustment of the machine installation.

Finally, the factory at Pollhornbogen complies with the latest Energy Saving Ordinance (EnEV), the flooring was carried out according to the Water Resources Act and a modern exhaust ventilation system with heat recovery was added.

Since 1946, Raeder-Vogel, with more than 500 employees, has been developing wheels and castors - from customised individual items to standardised large-scale production.
