Hoppecke has signed a Europe-wide partner agreement with CATL, the world market leader in lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and energy storage systems. The deal secures a pan-European contract for servicing CATL battery systems.

Hoppecke will be responsible for testing, repairing and replacing the CATL lithium-ion batteries installed in electrical-powered vehicles across the UK and Europe.

Kai Kollermann, Hoppecke group service director, says: "Initially, we are prioritising six countries - Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, Poland and Hungary. The contract with CATL reinforces our strategy as manufacturer-independent energy storage experts for all battery technologies and a wide range of applications."

CATL has R&D and manufacturing capabilities throughout automotive supply chains and energy storage sectors, focusing on the manufacture and sales of EV battery and energy storage systems. With presence in China, France, the US, Canada and Japan, it has long-established joint ventures and partnerships with some of the world's largest automotive companies, including BMW.

As battery experts, Hoppecke has the necessary know-how to support the CATL products, make reliable diagnoses and carry out repairs so that the vehicle can be back on the road quickly and safely.

With 23 subsidiaries worldwide and more than 300 service engineers in Europe, Hoppecke says it is ideally positioned to support CATL in terms of its European presence and experience in battery service.
