Simply Waste Solutions, one of the UK’s largest independently owned waste management companies, has recently invested in a Loadmac truck-mounted forklift that will enable the company to offer a bulk recycling service to its large commercial clients.

Designed and built in Ross-on-Wye, Loadmac is the only truck-mounted forklift made in Britain and, through its ability to improve fleet efficiency and versatility, it is experiencing record sales year-to-date. James Capel, CEO of Simply Waste Solutions, outlined why his company chose Loadmac over alternative brands, “First and foremost we really liked the response we got from our local Loadmac dealer, Plant Equipment. They came down to see us, found out about our operation and really understood what we were looking for.”

Capel continued, “The Loadmac was competitively priced and we were confident it was the best product of its kind on the market. It impressed in areas where other brands were lacking; specifically allowing one-side offload and its stability over difficult terrain. We liked the fact that it’s made in Britain too.”

Simply Waste Solutions operate over fifty vehicles within a twenty-five-mile radius of Heathrow, predominantly focussing on bin and bag collections. James Capel explained that the new truck mounted forklift will now allow the company to offer an expanded service to their customers, “The Loadmac will go on the back of a new curtain-sider we have also recently invested in. It’s part of our plan to encourage our customers to recycle more, so this will now enable us to visit customer sites and collect recyclable material by the bale. These bales can weigh up to half a tonne each so with the Loadmac we have the flexibility to load at any site, without needing to worry about what material handling options our customers have.”

The Loadmac is now in service and has been supplied with a specialised clamping attachment, which allows Simply Waste Solutions to collect bales from the side, rather than underneath, speeding up the loading and unloading process.

Ian Chapman, Loadmac Managing Director, commented, “We are delighted to be able to supply Simply Waste Solutions with the first of what we hope will be many Loadmac machines to support their bulk recycling operation.”
