On the 14th of September, the Vietnam Port Association Annual Conference 2017 was held in Muong Thanh Luxury Hotel in Da Nang City, Vietnam. Over 300 delegates from Vietnamese ports participated in the conference. As a leading port solution provider, Konecranes was invited by the association to participate. Mr. Maurizio Altieri, Sales Director of Konecranes Port Solutions in the Asia Pacific Region, gave a speech and introduced the product range and services offered by Konecranes Port Solutions. On the 4th of January 2017, Konecranes completed the acquisition of Terex material handling and port solutions. After the acquisition, the new Konecranes Port Solutions business area consists of 5 business units: Port Cranes, Mobile Harbor Cranes, Lift Trucks, Port Service and Software. The Konecranes Gottwald Mobile Harbor Cranes, Konecranes Noell Straddle Carriers and Container Cranes, and Liftace Lift Trucks which used to be in the Terex offering, now belong to the product offering of Konecranes Port Solutions.

Mr. Maurizio Altieri also introduced the RTG Reinvented: the BOXHUNTER RTG from Konecranes. Its unique design lowers the cabin  to the sill beam, and incorporates video technology and a new GUI for superb operator visibility, while making RTG access and control much easier for the operator. In addition, the BOXHUNTER RTG can be delivered in containers, so wherever the customeris located, by the sea or inland, as long as containers can reach the site by ship or road truck, the BOXHUNTER RTG can get there. This is all the result of Konecranes’ deep thinking about the needs of different port and terminal customers, and their real working situations, and extensive R&D and testing. The two BOXHUNTER RTGs ordered by Ben Nghe port were delivered at the end of August and their performance has been appreciated.
