Briggs Equipment is continuing its support for British Superbikes into a third year and has confirmed it is renewing its sponsorship of the Royal Air Force Regular & Reserves team for 2017.

As well as supporting the team and rider Jake Dixon in this season’s MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship, Briggs is the primary sponsor of new rider Jordan Weaving, who will compete in the Superstock 1000 series.

In an exciting move, the Royal Air Force Regular & Reserves team has entered into a new partnership with Kawasaki, which powered three of the top six placed teams in last year’s British Superbikes Championship, and will use the ZX10RR bike in 2017.

Gary Clements, Strategic Development Director at Briggs Equipment, said: “Our BSB sponsorship is all part of our longstanding links with the military community, through our specialist division, Briggs Defence.

“We’re delighted to be supporting the RAF Regular & Reserves for a third year running and wish the team every success for the 2017 season.”

Last season - his first in British Superbikes - Jake Dixon posted several top ten finishes until he was forced to bow out due to injury. Now back to fitness, he is keen to pick up where he left off and show he has what it takes to string together some impressive, points-scoring results. Team mate and new recruit Jordan Weaving, 19, is the reigning Pirelli National Superstock 600 champion and looks set to further his career by stepping up to Superstock’s premier class.

Following productive sessions at the Cartagena Pro Test in Spain, team manager Lee Hardy and his crew are working on the bike set up ahead of the Official British Superbikes test at Donington Park on March 22. The RAF Superbikes team plans to unveil its new livery on the eve of the test.

Once again, Briggs Equipment’s sponsorship agreement will see company branding on both race bikes, the riders’ race leathers and the team’s clothing. Fans will be able to tune into the action on Sky TV channels and there will be coverage of some rounds on Eurosport, ITV and ITV4.

The opening round of the 2017 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship is at Donington Park on March 31- April 2.
