Slough-based Alpha Global has invested heavily in the renewal and expansion of its vehicle fleet as part of a major rebranding and expansion programme.
The investment represents a major step forward for the company, which has been a member of the Fortec Distribution Network since 2014. Over the past two years Alpha Global has restructured its business, renewed and expanded its fleet, launched a new website and refined its customer base.
The ambitious re-branding programme comes four years after the company was first launched by David Fairhall, Director who previously had spent many years working within the industry as a Transport & Warehouse Manager In its early days, it operated as a parcel delivery firm before evolving into general haulage and subsequently pallets as the business continued to expand.
Having gone from strength to strength with slow but progressive growth levels, year on year, the company now operates a 12-strong fully-liveried fleet - an increase of four vehicles - including a signature 26-tonne Moffett truck as well as Artics, Rigids, 7.5 tonne trucks, all equipped with Tail lifts and a range of vans.
All vehicles are fitted with GPS trackers and meet European emission standards.
The company employs a team of 25 including 14 uniformed drivers - six of whom were recruited in the past two years to help cope with increasing volumes.
Able to transport anything from a parcel to a six- metre bi-fold door, hazardous waste, and also holding a Waste Brokerage Licence, Alpha Global is equipped to deal with almost any requirement.
Wendy Pallatt, General Manager of Alpha Global, said: “We initially started working with Fortec as an inputter before fully joining the network two years ago, as demand for pallet delivery continued to grow. It was a successful move, further enhancing our product offering. It has paid dividends too with pallets already accounting for 40 per cent of our business.
“Whilst we are still a relatively small haulier, there will always be a need for companies such as ours as we can offer a more personal service. Every customer has one dedicated point of contact within the firm and we have a true understanding of our customer’s needs and requirements.”
Although the firm is UK-based, Alpha Global’s customers also have the opportunity to take advantage of the company’s Simply European offering - a service launched by Fortec last year designed for frequent low pallet volume loads which offers daily and scheduled departures to 24 European countries.
The company is now working towards applying for accreditation under the Fleet Operators Recognition Scheme.
