XGMA, a leading construction machinery manufacturer in China, has equipped its next generation hydraulic excavator, the XG822, with Perkins® 1106D-70TA™ engines.
The 22 tonne excavator, one of the latest innovations from XGMA, is fitted with the powerful 1106D-70TA™, a mechanical engine which delivers 129 kW. The engine, which has been designed and built in Perkins Wuxi facility, has been engineered to specifically combat the problems of varying fuel quality. An upgraded fuel system increases tolerance to poor quality diesel, supported by improved filtration to capture any debris present.
The mechanical 1106D-70TA™ meets China Non-Road Stage III and was chosen for its powerful performance, reliability and durability, as well as its cost effective owning and operating costs. Perkins’ global service and parts network, which provides support wherever the machine is used, is another benefit for machine users.
The reliable mechanical 6 cylinder is ideally suited to construction machines. Typically OEMs have used a 10 litre engine to power a 22 tonne excavator, yet Perkins mechanical 6 cylinder, 7 litre engine does the job more efficiently. Its increased power density will do the work of a much larger displacement engine, while its compact size means better heat dissipation, making it more efficient and far more competitive on a whole life cost basis.Perkins 1106D-70TA
Perkins’ expert team of applications and installation engineers have worked closely with XGMA to integrate the 1106D-70TA™ into the excavator, to ensure the machine operator experiences the productivity, performance and fuel benefits delivered by the new engine.
“This project with XGMA is a great example of our customer focus in action. Many of our experts have worked alongside the team at XGMA’s facility in Xiaman to successfully deliver XGMA’s latest generation of hydraulic excavators, the XG822. Perkins’ mechanical 1106D-70TA™ perfectly complements XGMA’s new equipment and I know will bring many benefits for machine owners and operators across China.”
