Ryder is supplying Topps Tiles with 17 SDC trailers with Moffett Mounty forklifts under a sole supplier agreement.

Topps Tiles’ fleet operates from a distribution centre in Leicester, serving more than 340 stores via six outbases: Mossend, Widnes, Doncaster, Thurrock, Greenford and Portbury, managed by Wincanton.

The deal also sees Topps adopt a new livery. A further 10 trailers will be renewed by Ryder later in the year.

Kevin Smith, Topps Tiles national transport manager, said: “We went through a rigorous tender process and were looking for a partner who understood our business culture and operational demands. Ryder was the perfect fit and we could see that we could develop a long-term relationship. Innovation and continuous improvement is key to us and we saw Ryder as an innovative leader in its industry.”

The new livery, as featured on the trailers, is being rolled out across the Topps Tiles fleet. “Our vehicles are our billboard, and by far our largest advertising tool, whether travelling on the road network or parked outside our stores, so it is imperative that the livery presents a strong brand image and consistent message,” said Sian O’Neill, Topps Tiles head of marketing.
