The trade journal “handling” together with the trade fair organiser P.E. Schall presented the “handling awards 2015” on 6th October during a ceremony at the Motek 2015 trade fair in Stuttgart. STILL was among the lucky winners, and is delighted to have gained second place in the “warehousing, order picking, goods handling & transport” category.

Among more than 70 candidate entries submitted, the EXV-SF pedestrian and ride-on high lift pallet truck was the one that convinced the jury of the “handling award 2015”: the independent jury of industry experts awarded second place in the “warehousing, order picking, goods handling & transport” category to the truck made by STILL GmbH, Hamburg, a leading supplier of customised intralogistics solutions worldwide. The main assessment criteria were the innovative value, customer benefit, sustainability and marketability of the entry submitted. The editorial board of “handling” and trade fair organiser P.E. Schall awarded the distinction to outstanding products and system solutions in a total of four subject categories. The ceremonial presentation of prizes with a speech of welcome by Prof. Dr. Johanna Wanka, German Federal Minister for Education and Research, was a trade fair highlight of the 34th Motek, the international trade fair for production and assembly automation.

Giving its reasons for granting the award, the jury praised in particular the efficiency of the flexibly applicable trucks for high goods handling performances per shift. The main contributions to this are the improved driving, lifting and lowering speeds together with ergonomics and intuitive operability. The high lift pallet trucks also achieve peak values with regard to remaining load-bearing capacity, i.e. the retained ability to put even high loads into storage at a great height. The Blue-Q function also represents efficiency. When this program is switched on, the driving properties are adjusted so as to make an energy saving of up to 7% without restricting the maximum speed of 10 km/h in pedestrian operation or 6 km/h in ride-on operation. The driver is also given optimum protection from physical stresses by the pneumatically fold-out, air-damped stand-on platform and individually adjustable-high side guard hoops. The automatic speed reduction in curves, fitted as standard, also provides additional safety.
