Effective immediately Jungheinrich is offering two-shift operations with no intermediate charging or battery changing necessary; this is available as a special option for a range of electric forklift trucks. “This has become feasible today thanks to the extremely low energy consumption of our trucks,” explains Dr Klaus-Dieter Rosenbach, Jungheinrich Board of Management member in charge of Engineering. “This is not just a promise – we also back up this claim.” In other words, if a battery lasts less than two shifts, Jungheinrich will replace it free of charge.

This claim is valid for a number of new vehicles* which are typically used in multi-shift operations, including counterbalance trucks and system vehicles as well as the ETV 214/216 reach truck and ECE XL low-platform order picker in combination with Jungheinrich high-frequency charging devices and predefined vehicle batteries.

Within the last ten years Jungheinrich has lowered the energy consumption of its industrial trucks by up to 38 percent, depending on the product segment. This is due to a number of technological advances, including the across-the-board introduction of three-phase A.C. technology for its battery-powered trucks and energy recovery during braking or lowering of the load.

Jungheinrich ranks among the world’s leading companies in the material handling equipment, warehousing and material flow engineering sectors. The company is an intralogistics service and solution provider with manufacturing operations, which offers its customers a comprehensive range of forklift trucks, logistics systems, services and advice. Jungheinrich shares are traded on all German stock exchanges.
