Materials handling specialist European Handling Equipment has recently been awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification. Recognised throughout the world, this certification confirms that quality management systems are in place to ensure that procedures and processes followed by an organisation meet the highest possible standards. It also enables them to continually monitor and manage quality across all operations.

The ISO 9001:2008 certification was achieved following the company’s completion of a number of administrative and structural stages. These included the production of a procedures manual that details the operation of all management procedures within the company. Topics covered by the manual include management responsibilities, sales, purchasing, order processing, systems and personnel management. Within these areas, EHE was required to document operations ranging from sales enquiry handling to order delivery and from stock control to personnel training.

As part of the certification, European Handling Equipment is also required to implement regular audits of its systems and follow a review meeting programme. All of which is overseen by BSI, the business standards company, on an annual basis.
