The logistics industry is one of the most dynamic sectors of the Indian economy, growing at an estimated 15 percent annually. Added to this is the fact India’s new government under the prime ministership of Narendra Modi is planning massive investment in upgrades to the country’s road and rail networks and its sea and air ports. These measures are essential if India is to enjoy continued economic growth and have a smoothly functioning, world-class supply chain. The logistics industry is also doing well out of the dynamic growth of eCommerce in India, which, according to a recent DHL study, is growing at the rate of 12 percent annually. Another key factor is urbanization. With its urban populations growing rapidly, India is under pressure to develop and implement new logistics paradigms to ensure that its cities have the utilities and services they need.

Solutions to address these logistics challenges will be on show at CeMAT INDIA. There, over 100 companies from 14 nations will be showcasing their latest products and innovations for efficient, effective supply chain management. “India is one of the world’s biggest economies and so has enormous potential over the medium to long term. Indian industrial companies are increasingly aligning themselves with western standards and are therefore looking for quality products and solutions to make their logistics processes more efficient. By offering CeMAT INDIA, we’re giving international logistics manufactures a platform where they sell their application-specific solutions into this growing market,” said Wolfgang Pech, the Senior Vice President in charge of Deutsche Messe’s overseas CeMAT business.

The CeMAT INDIA exhibition program encompasses everything that’s used in or can enhance production and warehouse logistics, including industrial trucks, cranes and hoisting equipment, height access platforms and continuous handling systems, rack systems, factory equipment, pallets, containers, loading and unloading equipment, integrated systems and logistics software. The exhibitor lineup includes big names, such as Cascade, Exide, Godrej & Boyce, Hercules Hoists, Hoffmann Fördertechnik, Jungheinrich, Kaup, Kelly Material Handling and Puma Lift Trucks.

The exhibits at CeMAT INDIA will be supported by a conference program that will address a range of topics such as retail supply chain logistics, warehouse design and cool chain logistics.

CeMAT INDIA runs from 10 to 13 December 2014. It is part of the WIN INDIA tradeshow cluster, meaning that it will be co-located with three other industrial trade shows, namely MDA INDIA (power transmission and control), Industrial Automation INDIA and Surface Technology INDIA. WIN INDIA is held in New Delhi and is organized jointly by Deutsche Messe and Hannover Milano Fairs India.
