Verlinde hoists are used by Gulf Drilling International, a subsidiary of Qatar Petroleum, for its oil and gas drilling machines and equipment.

TPC Crane, Verlinde´s sole distributor based in Abu Dhabi, carried out the installations. Gulf Drilling international was looking for a solution to handle its oil wells and rigs with precise assembly and positioning and for a minimum of hook displacement during hoist movement.

Based on these requirements, Verlinde´s Eurobloc VT Wire Hoist was used as it provides low hook displacement in comparison to other manufacturers. In addition, the Eurobloc VT Wire hoist is able to obtain a maximum hook approach on the application area thanks to the larger diameter of its rope drum.
