On October 9, Komatsu Forest AB (President: Mitsuru Ueno), a wholly owned subsidiary of Komatsu Ltd. (President and CEO: Tetsuji Ohashi) received a visit by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (hereinafter "IVA") led by His Majesty Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden.

IVA is an independent organization which awards the Nobel Prizes in Physics and Chemistry. IVA regularly visits universities, scientific institutions and corporations in Sweden to promote the sciences and check technological levels. As part of this engagement, IVA visited Komatsu Forest and confirmed a high level of Komatsu Forest's technologies during their plant tour, which included the development facility, assembly lines and pre-shipment inspection of harvesters and forwarders, the companyfs flagship products.

The Komatsu Group would like to remain as an organization needed by societies around the world, as it continues to listen to local needs and expectations.
